A visa refusal is the rejection of the application for a non-immigrant visa by the immigration authorities.

Czech’s immigration authorities are called the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and are responsible for the immigration policies, visa application, and refusal services. (https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/article/immigration.aspx). The Czech visa would cost you 60 euros and the visa application process can take up to four weeks. The visa refusal rate for Czech Republic was 13.40% in 2017. Czech is a signatory to the Schengen Agreement having a common visa policy.

The authorities refuse to hand out a visa for a variety of reasons but the most common factors are that the intention of visit is not clear, the intention to return to the home country is not clear, the funds to cover the expenses are not sufficient, the travel insurance coverage is not fulfilled, the travel documents submitted are incorrect, the passport is invalid or forged, the applicant has previous unresolved immigration issues with the Schengen visa.

The refusal letter will contain the detailed reasons for the visa refusal and each case is unique.

The solutions for visa refusal include two options that the applicant can adopt, which is to either appeal the decision of refusal (the right being granted under Article 32(3) of the Visa Code) or file for a fresh application.

It should be noted that the fee spent on the visa application is non-refundable and the applicant is not legally entitled to get the visa.

The appeal needs to be filed within 15 days of receiving the refusal letter and should be filed with the Embassy of the member state that issued the refusal letter, in this case, Czech Republic. The appeal should contain the information about the applicant and the reasons for filing an appeal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required to review the request within 30 days and the outcome is sent to the applicant through the diplomatic mission.

Alternately, the candidate can file for a fresh application is he/she does not have any valid grounds for appealing the decision. The fresh application should meet all the reasons for visa refusal.

The Czech Republic is an aspiring destination for the immigrants and especially the tourists who are in awe of its castles and long history. The Schengen visa for the Czech Republic can be obtained if the right advice of the qualified advisors is taken at the right time.
